Information literacy

Good information in any form helps make our personal worth more conducive to cooperate in a diverse world. Leadership requires us to advance properly and increase abilities by becoming information literate in order to motivate those willing to improve current standing. Personal gain motivates some to create false or misleading information portrayed as truth. Education leaders certainly must align true and correct with presented information by pre-screening before presenting. The world wide web is very alive, changing and present in our information environment. Being alert and knowledgeable about the variety of options through internet/ www improves the probability of choosing the best information and ignoring many detours.

Educational/ Instructional Technology Organizations

My first choice of sites for the advancement of technology is High Plains Regional Technology in Education Consortium (HPR*TEC) @ www.hprtec.org

This site is great for students, parents, and teachers by providing activities using technology to enhance education and curiosity. I clicked on the link www.4teachers.org once I was in the original site. This site offers help integrating technology in the classroom by providing web lessons, quizzes, and tools for students.

My second choice of sites is Regional Technology in Education Consortia @ rtec.org

This site has a variety of categories to choose from. One may link to practical lessons to use in a k-12 classroom. I found math lessons I can use in class with supplies already at hand.

I am taking this class as an elective for my Education Administration Master's Degree in order to get a Principal's Certificate. Also, I desperately need to improve my low technology skills. I want to be more fluent in technological vocabulary and more independent when working on a computer. I usually have to get one of my sons to bail me out of a mess. So far, they have willingly helped me with techno problems in my graduate courses, but might be unavailable to help Dear Old Dad, later.
